Seizures — a sudden and uncontrollable electrical disturbance in the brain that can affect your behavior, body movement and even consciousness — are often connected with epilepsy but can also be triggered by a lack of sleep, stress, medication or alcohol use.

To help you understand the condition more, Dr. Gabriel Martz, a board-certified neurologist, and Dr. Mohamad Khaled, a board-certified neurosurgeon, will present the free webinar “Understanding Seizures” on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5-6:30 p.m.

The doctors will explain the difference between a seizure and epilepsy, how seizure medications work and how to recognize when they are not, and treatment options.

The interactive session — which participants can join from phones, computers or tablets — will conclude with a live question and answer session with Drs. Martz and Khaled.

The session is free but registration is required. Call 1.855.HHC.HERE (1.855.442.4373) or click here. After registering, you’ll receive an email with easy instructions on joining the webinar.
