Because of the continued expansion of services, the Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute has officially moved its Norwich office, formerly at 164 Otrobando Ave., to a newly renovated 7,000-square-foot space at 111 Salem Turnpike in Norwich (the former Ames plaza).  The new center offers comprehensive and convenient outpatient services with seamless coordination of care with Backus Hospital and Hartford Hospital if needed.

The new office houses specialists in:

  • Cardiology.
  • Advanced Heart Failure.
  • Vascular Surgery.
  • Electrophysiology & Pacemaker Care.

On-Site testing:

  • Vascular.
  • Echocardiograms.
  • Ultrasound.

“This new center is great news for our patients,” said Donna Handley, president of Hartford HealthCare’s East Region, which includes Backus and Windham hospitals.  “With the continued expansion of heart and vascular services and the addition of key specialists and subspecialists, we are now offering services that have never before been offered in our community and bringing together multiple specialties that are all currently in that location.”

The renovated space is located in the building formerly known as the Backus Outpatient Care Center which also includes diagnostic imaging, endocrinology, arthritis and rheumatology services, pain management, rehabilitation services, wound care, and Quest laboratory services.
