The Chase Family Movement Disorders Center combines the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic skills to provide compassionate and fully integrated care in the management of the disease and other movement disorders.
To best meet the needs of patients, Hartford HealthCare is developing comprehensive, state-of-the-art facilities throughout Connecticut to support those with movement disorders:
- Our original Center is at 35 Talcottville Road in Vernon.
- The new location in Cheshire is now open at 280 Main St. (See photo above.)
- Opening in January 2020 will be our third center: in Mystic at 100 Perkins Farm Drive off of Coogan Boulevard.
The Chase Family Movement Disorders Center provides cutting-edge research, pharmacologic management, surgical options and psychosocial support. The program also emphasizes the important role of exercise, socialization and a healthy lifestyle in the maintenance of every patient’s overall well-being.
Free fitness classes for the mind and body are offered to help improve and stabilize the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Tai Chi, yoga and boxing are ongoing at the Center’s original Vernon location and will be a part of the new Cheshire and Mystic locations, as well.
A wellness program offered through the Integrative Medicine Department of Hartford HealthCare includes massage therapy, reiki and acupuncture. With these and many other services, the Chase Family Movement Disorders Center provides patient-centered care in a supportive and caring environment.
