Windham Hospital leadership and staff welcomed representatives from Windham High School and the town of Willimantic to the hospital on Friday, May 6, to announce a new partnership that will help connect students with careers in healthcare. The program will offer students in the school’s Pathways Programs with guidance, curriculum and support in choosing a career in healthcare prior to graduation.

The partnership will officially kick off at a job fair on Thursday, June 2 at Windham High School, where several departments from the hospital, including nursing, EMT and radiology, will be on hand provide students with more information about how to get started in their field.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for us and our students,” said Randall Prose, a teacher at Windham School who is helping  spearhead the partnership. “We are grateful for Windham Hospital’s participation, and we know that this will help to ensure our kids have the skills to continue to be successful after they graduate.”

“Windham Hospital could not be more proud to be a part of this community and this wonderful partnership,” said Donna Handley, President of Hartford HealthCare’s East Region. “These students represent the future of our community and our hospital and we want to do everything we can to help them in their journey to starting a career in healthcare.”
