After more than two years as acting chair of the department of neurology at Hartford Hospital Dr. Agnes Jani-Acsadi will step down as Dr. Mark J. Alberts comes on board as the new physician-in-chief of the Hartford HealthCare Neuroscience Institute as well as Chief of Neurology at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Jani-Acsadi was instrumental in creating an academic partnership between UCONN Health Center and Hartford Hospital. She was also able to bring new physicians on board, promote collaboration and education within the department and with UCONN as well as stimulate the growth of multidisciplinary neurological care at Hartford Hospital.

“Dr. Jani-Acsadi has always had the utmost devotion to the care of her patients and is an outstanding leader and educator within her chosen field,” said Wendy Elberth, vice president of the Hartford HealthCare Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Jani-Acsadi will continue her academic endeavors and specialty work in neurology and neuromuscular medicine as vice chair of clinical affairs for the department of neurology at UCONN Health where she hopes to grow the department by creating fellowships and develop more research opportunities in neuromuscular medicine.

We are sincerely grateful for the excellent work and guidance Dr. Jani-Acsadi has offered the department at Hartford Hospital. She has been instrumental in the growth of neuroscience at Hartford Hospital and Hartford HealthCare. We wish her the best.
