Integrated Care Partners is pleased to welcome Surendra P. Khera, MD, MSc as Chief Medical Officer and VP of Population Health.  Dr. Khera, “Sunny”, is a practicing internist in Enfield and previously served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.

Dr. Khera led Saint Francis through six Leapfrog A ratings in Healthcare Quality and established the hospital as one of the top five hospitals in patient experience within its parent company, Trinity Health. He also founded models of care such as LETS CONNECT and Complexity Driven Localization of Care, which was accepted by the Advisory Board as one of their International Models of Inpatient Care. Under Dr. Khera’s leadership, the first Council on Consistency in Care was established at Saint Francis.

Dr. Khera attended medical school in India and completed his post-graduate training in the United Kingdom. He completed his residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. Dr. Khera holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety and a Graduate Certificate in Population Health from Jefferson School of Population Health in Philadelphia. He also holds a Certificate in Patient Safety from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Certificate in Patient Experience Leadership from the Beryl Institute.

Dr. Khera is a valuable addition to the ICP team and we look forward to his leadership as we continue to deliver high-quality, clinically integrated, patient-centered care.
