General surgeon Tamara T. Myers, MD, FACS, recently joined the medical staff at Windham Hospital.
Dr. Myers earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College, a medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and completed her internship and residency in general surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. She also completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery research at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans.
Interested in complex abdominal wall hernias as well as quality improvement in both general and hernia surgery, Dr. Myers is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is on the faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Hernia Society, the American Medical Association, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and Sigma Xi Research Society.
