Dr. John F. (“Jack”) Greene, who began his medical career in 1983 with a residency and subsequent fellowship at Hartford Hospital, has announced his retirement as the hospital’s Vice President for Medical Affairs effective December 30.

Dr. Greene is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, a field he has continued to contribute to amidst his administrative responsibilities. As a professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, he has published and presented widely, contributing to the education of today’s and tomorrow’s physician leaders, and earning recognition for Hartford Hospital and Hartford HealthCare.

He is an outstanding example of our organization’s leadership philosophy for members of the medical staff. Dr. Greene is a graduate of our Physician Leadership Development Institute, and a recognized champion for our continued commitment to quality, safety and the customer experience.

More than anything, though, Dr. Greene is an approachable, passionate physician. He has made lasting impressions and improvements at our hospital, and in his earlier leadership role at MidState Medical Center.

Over the next several months, please join us in taking time to thank Jack for his efforts and accomplishments, and wishing him well in retirement starting in 2018
