Hartford HealthCare and Backus Hospital are expanding services in southern New London County, offering comprehensive primary and specialty care to residents on the shoreline.

Hartford HealthCare’s expanded and existing services are providing advanced and coordinated care in the areas of primary care, urgent care, cardiology, urology, women’s health, oncology, pediatrics, surgery, physical and occupational rehabilitation, and home health care from the Connecticut River to the Rhode Island border.

”We’re building a team of primary care and specialty providers on the shoreline that gives residents access to the best care possible close to home,” says Vincent DiBattista, president of the Hartford HealthCare Medical Group. “From managing your family’s health by connecting to a primary care provider to specialty care like oncology or cardiology, Hartford HealthCare Medical Group offers a wide array of services — all connected to Hartford HealthCare, Connecticut’s most comprehensive health care network.”

Also, in late 2016 Backus Hospital acquired the Constitution Surgery Center East at 174 Cross Road in Waterford, which offers outpatient ophthalmic and orthopedic surgery.

“Working with Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, we have been able to identify the types of care most needed in southern New London County — and we’re delivering by offering the best and most coordinated care available,” says Bimal Patel, Backus Hospital president.

Plans to increase services on the shoreline are being complemented by a marketing campaign that includes print and radio ads and a website with a full listing of HHC services.  For a full list of services and providers on the shoreline, click here.
