“Dry needling” is one of the new and alternative therapies making its way into the practice of physical therapy

Dry needling uses acupuncture needles to relieve muscle pain. The term “dry” refers to the fact that there is no medication in or on the needles themselves. Physical therapist Matt Reynolds from the Center for Musculoskeletal Health at the Hartford HealthCare Bone & Joint Institute is trained in the practice. He talks with podcast hosts Rob Dibble and Ben Darnell about how it all works, and provides tips on how to get yourself warmed up for outdoor athlete endeavors.
