Hartford HealthCare (HHC) cut the ribbon on its new health center at 462 Queen Street in Southington on Wednesday, officially introducing a wide range of services including primary care, endocrinology, Center for Healthy Aging, rehabilitation and neurosciences.

“This health center acts as a one-stop-shop with quick, convenient access and a wide variety of services that are vital to the needs of our community,” said Gary Havican, president of The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center.

Havican added that in the near future, additional services will be added, including bariatrics, colorectal, dermatology, gastroenterology, nephrology, general surgery, and medical weight loss.

The new health center is conveniently located near the HHC GoHealth Urgent Care Center at 775 Queen Street. GoHealth offers patients a wide range of services, from treatments for cuts and minor burns to X-rays and on-site lab tests for common illnesses or injuries. Urgent care appointments can be made online or by walking in– and with short wait times, patients are seen quickly.

“I know first-hand how committed our providers are to improving the health and well-being of this community,” said Dr. Letterio Asciuto, president of the medical staff at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. “Many of our doctors live and work in this town. They are outstanding professionals who are deeply connected to their patients. As a doctor, I understand the importance of having experts nearby.”

In May, HHC will open a new location at 98 Main Street, which will include mental health and older adult services, substance abuse treatment, and more. A community survey identified behavioral health services as a need in the community.
