Hartford HealthCare Medical Group has opened a primary care location at 7 Village D Green, 1A, in Litchfield at the site of the former Señor Ponchos Restaurant in the plaza anchored by Stop & Shop.
Dr. Michelle Apiado will offer comprehensive health services and is committed to personal and compassionate care through the diagnosis and treatment of both acute and long-term health conditions. Her areas of interest include Primary Care, Patient Safety, Preventative Care and Integrative Medicine.
“They say home is where the heart is and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and its surrounding community is where I began my career,” she said. “I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of providing care and witnessing the development of generations of families in Litchfield County. I feel especially honored to return as part of Hartford Healthcare and I’m looking forward to providing compassionate care in my hometown.”
Dr. Apiado received her medical degree from the Howard University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and completed her residency and Internship at the University of Maryland Medical Systems, Department of Family Medicine, Baltimore, MD.
In addition to offering full primary care services, in the future this Litchfield location will also offer office hours by local Orthopedic and other specialty care providers. The Hartford HealthCare Medical group also has Primary Care offices in Torrington, Thomaston, Canaan, and Winsted.
The new Litchfield practice will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
