Dr. de Marcaida and Dr. Machado travel to Spain for Global Investigator’s Meeting with Intec Pharma’s Accordance Study on Parkinson’s Disease

Dr. J. Antonelle de Marcaida and Dr. Duarte G. Machado traveled to Barcelona, Spain in November for the global Investigator’s Meeting of Intec Pharma’s Accordance Study.

The Hartford Healthcare (HHC) Movement Disorders Center was one of only 130 sites from 11 countries worldwide, and the only institution from Connecticut, selected to participate in Intec Pharma’s clinical trial for patients with fluctuating Parkinson’s disease (PD). The Investigator’s Meeting brought together over 200 leading Parkinson’s disease clinicians from the United States, Europe and Israel for this important two-day event.

The Accordance Study, a pivotal phase III multicenter randomized double blind double dummy trial assessing the efficacy and safety of AP-CD/LD in advanced Parkinson’s disease, is one of 5 clinical research protocols currently ongoing at the Center. Dr. de Marcaida is the principal investigator for this, and for the 5 other clinical trials at HHC, actively enrolling subjects with varying stages of PD. Dr. Machado serves as sub-investigator for the Accordance study.

If you have a patient who may be interested in participating in clinical research for Parkinson’s disease and other Movement Disorders, the Center can be reached at 860.870.6385.
