The new Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute at MidState Medical Center opened April 3. The institute will operate as a hospital within a hospital, providing patients with convenient access to high-quality, comprehensive care; outstanding physicians; and the latest technology — all in their community.

The Institute, located on Pavilion A, is a 22-bed unit that specializes in total joint replacement and spine procedures, including use of the innovative Mazor X robotic technology.

Local communities recently have seen an increase in demand for orthopedic services. MidState leadership believes the hospital can be a center of excellence for a broad range of orthopedic care, thanks to the

highly skilled surgical and clinical staff and the outstanding facilities.

Valet parking is easily accessible for patients and visitors, with a valet stand outside the Pavilion A and Family Birthing Center entrance. Revisions to the main Galleria entrance at MidState also are planned to enhance the entry for orthopedic patients and visitors.
