If you’re looking for the perfect gift this holiday season, presentation counts. Let’s say you just spent several hundred dollars for that special someone on a Kardashian-size gem at Westfarms in Farmington. Don’t stuff it in a little brown bag and hope the gemstone alone dazzles. Show you really care with a custom $3 wrapping at the Westfarms holiday gift-wrap station that is bound to impress not only with its professional looks but also with its greater cause: All proceeds this year benefit the Hartford HealthCare Movement Disorders Center.

Last year, in act of (extreme) gift-wrapping followed by an act of kindness, Westfarms donated more than $18,000 to the Hartford HealthCare Center For Healthy Aging.

The while-you-wait gift station is on the second floor at Westfarms in the Lord & Taylor wing, outside J. Crew and The North Face. The station, open during mall hours, is a cash-only deal with a six-gift limit per person. (The wrap includes paper, bow and gift tag, but no boxes.)

Yes, a holiday shopping expedition can be exhausting. So while at Westfarms, make time for a stop at the Hartford HealthCare Wellness Rest and Relaxation Lounge on the first floor in the Nordstrom wing. Relax, recharge (that includes your mobile devices, too) and check out some health and wellness services available in the region.

Then start planning for the inevitable holiday weight gain by registering for the Walk To Wellness Jan. 3, which starts at the lounge with a half-hour presentation at 8:30 a.m. by Dr. Duarte Machado of the Movement Disorders Center on “Parkinson’s Disease and Restless Leg Syndrome,” followed by a walk with Dr. Machado to California Pizza Kitchen for refreshments.
