A ribbon-cutting ceremony held Sept. 12, 2018 marks the opening of the Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

This is the tenth location for the Center for Healthy Aging, which was established in 2004. This groundbreaking service connects families and their older loved ones with resources and support systems to achieve the optimum quality of life. It is located just inside Charlotte Hungerford’s Outpatient Entrance, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington, and serves residents of Litchfield County area.

Jennifer Labrie, HS-BCP, of Barkhamsted, serves as the Center’s resource coordinator, dedicated to connecting seniors and caregivers with the most-appropriate resources and support systems to achieve the optimum quality of life. This includes free comprehensive assessments – in-home, by phone, in the office – to determine the best level and type of care that may incorporate in-home assistance, medical alert technology, home modifications, state programs and veteran’s services.
