Hartford HealthCare has enlisted technology to provide webinars on a variety of important topics as the COVID-19 pandemic forces a temporary halt to in-person community education sessions.

On Thursday, May 28, from 12 to 1 p.m., existing and new breast patients of the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute can learn more about telehealth sessions and how they enable the system to deliver the same high quality of care without requiring patients to come into our locations.

“Breast Health during COVID-19” is a free educational session offered by breast surgeon Dr. April Duckworth. She will talk about how the Hartford HealthCare Medical Group breast division continues to care for patients during the coronavirus pandemic, how virtual health visits work and its benefits. In addition, she will discuss how the breast division is keeping patients safe even when they need to come into the office for a visit.

The interactive session – which participants can join from phones, computers or tablets – will conclude with a live question and answer session with Dr. Duckworth.

The session is free but registration is required. Call 1.855.HHC.HERE (1.855.442.4373). After you register, you’ll receive an email with easy instructions on joining the webinar.

Not feeling well? Call your healthcare provider for guidance and try to avoid going directly to an emergency department or urgent care center, as this could increase the chances of the disease spreading.
