Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is presenting a health talk entitled “Women and Heart Disease” by Dr. Carrie Wolfberg of CHH Cardiovascular Associates in Torrington on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Memorial Conference Room, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington.

Dr. Wolfberg, pictured above, will present the latest information on cardiovascular disease and what you need to know to stay healthy and active. Topics will include understanding the risk factors that cause women to develop heart disease, specific heart disease symptoms for women, and what women can do to reduce their risk.

Carla Angevine, a registered and certified dietitian nutritionist, will begin the program at 5:30 by presenting tips on heart-healthy eating. She will demonstrate how to make a tasty treat that also provides beneficial nutrients and samples will be included with the refreshments offered.

Heart disease causes one in three deaths among women each year. To raise awareness and as a powerful visual reminder to take care of our hearts, we request that all who join us for this informative and enjoyable evening wear something red.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations, and attendees will have a chance to win one of several raffle prizes.

Registration is required. RSVP to 1.855.HHC.HERE (1.855.442.4373). Seating is limited so please call soon.
